D’Alberto on track for Perth round
Rod Nash Racing is set to take on Perth after a successful round at New Zealand. With spirits running high the team is looking forward to another 3 race round and relishes the opportunity to put the car through its paces on the Barbagallo circuit.
D’Alberto has taken a very serious approach to the Perth round, conscious that he will need to maintain a strong focus to produce a qualifying result that will position him in a good spot on the grid. Car set-up will play a vital role in ensuring D’Alberto can run near the front and the team are taking all measures in preparation for the event.
“It’s quite a short lap but it’s always very close times there with the field spread by less than a second,” D’Alberto said, “The track produces really good racing so it’s going to be exciting.
“The end of the long straight going into the last corner is quite quick. The brake is actually uphill so you can brake pretty late and there are a lot of passing moves there and that’s probably one of the best spots to pass. You gain a lot of time there if you get it right. That’s probably going to be one of the main areas we’ll focus on and also the bowl down the bottom of the track which has different racing lines out of the corner so we’ll need to see what works best for us.”
The weekend round carries a busy format with qualifying and Race 1 both lined up for Saturday. D’Alberto has become accustomed to a demanding schedule and has maintained a high level of fitness to enable him to meet whatever a race round throws at him.
