Team ready to face the heat at Hidden Valley Print

The Bottle-O Racing Team is back into race mode for this weekend’s round of the V8 Supercar Championship at Hidden Valley Raceway.

V8 Supercar teams had a 4 week break between rounds after last month’s event at Winton, Victoria.  Drivers can expect to face a different climate at Darwin this weekend with temperatures forecast to reach over 30 degrees.

The Bottle-O Racing Team kept busy during the break, fitting in 2 tests to further hone the performance of the #55 Bottle-O Falcon.

Driver Paul Dumbrell will get a taste of the Hidden Valley circuit this Friday with practice sessions kicking off the round.  Friday’s line-up will be swiftly followed by qualifying and a 120km race on Saturday.  Sunday is reserved for a heftier 200km race that will be more demanding on car components.

Dumbrell is looking forward to getting behind the wheel and tackling the unique challenges this circuit brings.

“The complex through turns 9 to 11 are always critical in achieving a lap time out of the cars.” Dumbrell said “You monster the curbs, along with hard braking over a surface change, which impedes your run onto the long main straight.”

“It’s a tough circuit on tyres, so our complete focus will be on ensuring that we can improve our longevity on longer runs.

“We have certainly been heading in the right direction after the two latest tests since the Winton Race.”

Dumbrell finished last year’s Sunday race at Hidden Valley in 6th position and the team is keen to repeat that success this weekend.
